Multi Camera: Group meeting 1

After meeting as a group, we sat down and began discussing the kind of topics each of us wanted to cover in our package. Brainstorming everyones ideas on a large piece of paper meant we could see clearly what direction our 30 minute piece was heading in and allowed everyone an equal say in how the live show could be constructed. This meeting also covered things such as topic, Live/Pre recorded balance, job roles and order of packages shown on the day. Some of the many ideas evolved from this exercise were packages, such as games reviews and World Cup discussions.

Delegating job rolls early in the project gives everyone time to be prepared and understand what it is they will be expected to do on the day and the kind of jobs they will need to undertake.E.g. I was given the role of director, which means I oversee everything that goes on, from editing to camera work. In preparation for this role, I will need to make sure I have a full understanding of how the show is going to flow and what everyones' final package looks like.

Later in the session, we had a brief introduction to the full set of cables and kit that we will need on the day and were aided in setting up everything we would use before filming.
Despite coming across a few problems with monitors and BNC's, the session was successfull and allowed my team to see the kind of format the studio will be in when we come to film live.
